Hythem and Ronél’s love story ♥
“I want you to go bring hope to those who have lost everything”.
I think back on the words God spoke to me while sitting in the shade of a tent almost five years ago in Cunisa. I can’t help but think how great God’s provision has been since I started on the mission He sent me on.
In 2012 I left the town I grew up in and moved to Mafraq to work with Syrian refugees (with almost no money in my pocket), relying on God to keep me where he wanted me. He provided for all my needs, physical, spiritual, emotional and best of all the relational. He has given me friends and family among the locals and the workers, but the greatest was in February of 2015 when I started getting to know a woman whom He’s been preparing for a life in the sa,e field of work and that woman is Ronel.
“If God calls you to Jordan long term, would you go?”
Friends posed this challenge upon hearing about my upcoming short term trip to Jordan in July 2014. “Of course!”, I had been waiting for God to realize the dream He had put in my heart since I was seventeen years old. “But He won’t call me to Jordan”.
Famous last words!
After the short term trip in July, God moved mountains at lightning speed and I was back in Jordan as a long term worker by September 2014. In February 2015 I became friends with a very cute translator in the same town. In August he came to South Africa to meet my parents… and the rest is history!
